GLOSSARY OF TERMINOLOGY

When describing curved glass, some less common terminology is often required. Here are some of those briefly explained.

	Circumference	the outer boundary of a circle or circular shape
	Radius	the distance from the centre of a circle to the circumference.
	Girth	the measurement around the circumference (curve)
	Chord	a line between two points on the circumference.
	Length	the distance along the straight edge of the glass.
	Rise	the distance between the chord and the parallel tangent.
	Tangent	a straight line that touches the circumference of a circle.
	Degree (ơ)	the unit used to measure the included angle of a segment of a circle
